{"id":124,"date":"2023-02-23T01:33:20","date_gmt":"2023-02-23T00:33:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/official-master-chemistry-uab.cat\/?page_id=124"},"modified":"2026-05-06T15:30:17","modified_gmt":"2026-05-06T13:30:17","slug":"master-dissertation-information","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/official-master-chemistry-uab.cat\/index.php\/master-dissertation-information\/","title":{"rendered":"Master dissertation information"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>&nbsp;<strong>GUIDELINES FOR THE MASTER THESIS REPORT AND PRESENTATION&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-file\"><a id=\"wp-block-file--media-7f68353f-4a75-42e7-ab9d-f2afe300a10e\" href=\"https:\/\/official-master-chemistry-uab.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/guidelines_presentations_year_2022-23.pdf\">Guidelines <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/official-master-chemistry-uab.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/guidelines_presentations_year_2022-23.pdf\" class=\"wp-block-file__button wp-element-button\" download aria-describedby=\"wp-block-file--media-7f68353f-4a75-42e7-ab9d-f2afe300a10e\">Download<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The internship (15 ECTS) and master thesis (15 ECTS) modules are undertaken during the second semester of the master&#8217;s program in an academic institution, research institute, or company, under the guidance and supervision of a professor from the Chemistry Department of UAB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The evaluation of the master thesis module will be based on a written report prepared by the student, followed by a public oral presentation and discussion of the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Format and layout of master thesis report&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; The report has to be written in English and between 20-30 pages long, using the following letter\u2019s fonts: <em>Times New Roman 12 <\/em>or Arial 11 or Tahoma 11, with a line spacing of 1.5.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; The content will be structured into the main following chapters: abstract, introduction, objectives, results and discussion, conclusions, and experimental part. The whole set of chapters results and discussion, conclusions and experimental part should be at least 2\/3 of the total length.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; On the cover it has to be included the following data:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uab.cat\/ca\/identitatcorporativa\/descarrega-logotip-uab\">UAB Logotype centered at the top part&nbsp;<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Name of the master: \u201cMaster in industrial chemistry and introduction to chemical&nbsp;research\u201d&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Name of the module: \u201cMaster Thesis\u201d&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Title of the report&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The names of the author and supervisor\/s (in UAB and elsewhere if applicable)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> Department, Faculty and date&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&#8211; The initial page of the master thesis report has to include the following text:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Report presented to pass the module Master Thesis from Master in industrial chemistry and introduction to chemical research <\/em>[Author\u2019s name and signature] <em>Approval <\/em>[Supervisor\/s Names and signatures]&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Bellaterra <\/em>[dd:mm:yyyy]*&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Deposit date in the Chemistry Departament&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-712f19a8f8112ca372afb1f653e84b51\"><strong>DEPOSIT PROCEDURE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>In addition to all these instructions, you will receive an email in a timely manner with further instructions.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The student will deliver into the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"mailto:Gestio.Postgrau.Quimica@uab.cat\" data-type=\"mailto\" data-id=\"mailto:\" target=\"_blank\">Department Secretary<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>a) One-hard copy to the Secretary&nbsp;Office&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;Department&nbsp;of&nbsp;Chemistry&nbsp;(Room&nbsp;C7\/035)&nbsp;before&nbsp;deadline (09\/07\/26 at 14:00 h).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>b) The electronic version in PDF format send by email to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"mailto:gestio.postgrau.quimica@uab.cat\" target=\"_blank\">gestio.postgrau.quimica@uab.cat<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>c) The master\u2019s survey, via:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/eformularis.uab.cat\/web\/departamentdequimica\/masterindchem-research\">https:\/\/eformularis.uab.cat\/web\/departamentdequimica\/masterindchem-research<\/a>.
